No server of ours
Satori Tab has no backend. Your widgets, notes, and settings live in Chrome's own storage on your device, synced only through your own Google Account if you enable it.
Nothing sold, nothing tracked
No ads, no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers are bundled with Satori Tab. We don't know who you are, and we don't want to.
Permissions, justified
Every permission Satori Tab requests maps to a feature you can see. The full breakdown is below and in the privacy policy.
Why Satori Tab asks for what it asks for
Permissions, in plain language
Chrome requires an extension to declare everything it might touch up front. Here's what each one is actually for.
storage
Saves your widgets, layout, notes, tasks, and settings locally — and through your Google Account if Chrome sync is on.
bookmarks
Powers the Bookmarks drawer and Speed Dial widget, so you can browse and launch your existing Chrome bookmarks from the new tab page.
tabs / tabGroups / sessions
Lets dashboard widgets show, search, and jump to your open tabs, tab groups, and recently closed sessions.
alarms
Schedules a periodic background refresh of the news feeds you've subscribed to, so new articles are ready when you open a tab.
identity
Reads your signed-in Chrome profile's name for the header greeting and to key your synced data to your account. Never used to sign you into anything else, and nothing is sent off your device.
host permissions
A fixed list of news, weather, and search domains, contacted directly from your browser only to fetch the content those widgets display — never through a server we run.
optional: any site
Requested only at the moment you add a custom RSS feed from a site outside the built-in list, and only for that action. You can decline it.
